Northcoast Brass Ensemble

The Northcoast Brass Ensemble is a quintet made up of Humboldt County educators. Members of the group are Chris Cox and Burt Codispoti, trumpets; Ronite Gluck, horn; Dan Aldag, trombone; and Fred Tempas, tuba.

The ensemble began as a student group at Humboldt State University and the members enjoyed playing together so much that thy kept the quintet going after all had graduated, adding their former faculty coach along the way. Eight years later, only one of the original members remains, but the ensemble continues its tradition of contemporary literature for brass quintet with transcriptions of jazz, classical, and popular favorites.
