October 11, 2003

We are pleased to welcome back for an entertaining evening Terrie Baune, violin, and Deborah Clasquin, piano, two critically acclaimed soloists who have joined to perform an early love: chamber music. Following their debut in San Francisco, Stuart Canin wrote, "a fine team...appealing and splendid."

Terrie Baune has been concertmaster of the women's Philharmonic since 1982 and Associate Concertmaster of the Oakland-East Bay Orchestra. She is currently a member of the Empyrean Ensemble, a new music ensemble in residence at UC Davis. She has served on the faculty of UC Davis, CSU Stanislaus and UC Santa Cruz. Terrie also serves as Associate Director of the Summer Chamber Music Workshop at HSU.

Deborah Clasquin enjoys an active career as a recitalist, having performed in Moscow, Paris, Kiev, Chicago, Boston, Washington, D.C. and San Francisco. A graduate of Indiana University and the New England Conservatory of Music, Dr. Clasquin has studied with Menachem Pressler and Leon Fleisher. She is a Professor of Music at Humboldt State University.
