The Fortuna Concert Series rings in the New Year with the McKenzie Touring Company, the longest tenured barbershop quartet in Cascade Chorus history. The highly acclaimed entertainment group was named Division IV champions in the Evergreen District in 1990 and again in 2002. In the past 23 years, they have performed in ten states from Alaska to Kansas, and in numerous provinces in Canada. Known for their high-powered comedy, the McKenzie Touring Company traveled to Columbus, Ohio, in 1995 and "captured the gold" in the Buckeye Invitational Comedy Quartet Contest using their famous nuclear power disaster package.
In the summer of 1988, this quartet was featured in the Music Man where they appeared in 17 performances to over 30,000 patrons who "whooped and hollered" for the great sounds of barbershop music.
The quartet consists of: Dale Fish, baritone, who works at the University of Oregon; Ray Seely, bass, who is a medical group manager; Bob Martindale, lead, who is an environmental management specialist; and Gary Raze, tenor, who is a middle school teacher. This promises to be an exciting and entertaining evening.
