Annika Bäckström

A delightful and entertaining evening awaits us when Annika Bäckström, voice instructor at HSU, presents art songs and arias with narratives and readings.

Annika has performed in numerous operas, concerts, and plays in Europe and the United States. Her academic background is rooted in music, theatre, and languages, and she holds degrees in all three areas. She grew up in Sweden and studied voice at Stockholm Opera, Goteborg Opera, and Malmo Stadsteater as well as with renowned teachers in Sweden and the United States.

David Johnston, an acting specialist and licensed MFT, will be assisting Annika by providing the narration and readings.

The accompanists for Annika will be Nancy Correll and Elizabeth McCubbrey.
