The Compost Mountain Boys
February 12, 2005

The Compost Mountain Boys have been together since 1992, performing a variety of vocals and instrumentals in the old-time bluegrass style. They have entertained audiences at festivals and concerts, as well as parties, dances, and other festive occasions.

Sean Bohannon plays mandolin and sings lead and harmonies. He is the spokesperson for the band, and is responsible for a lot of the country humor. Bruce (Jr.) Johnson plays the stand-up bass, and offers smooth lead and tenor vocals to the band. Tim Wilson is an excellent flat-pick guitarist, and plays tasteful and dynamic guitar breaks. He also adds a vocal part on occasion. Mike (Spumoni) Manetas is a fine bluegrass singer, and provides strong rhythm on the guitar. Jason Romero plays the 5-string banjo in the traditional style, and adds a great drive to the band. Jim Hatchimonji is the fiddler, and "saws up" a storm on instrumentals and vocals alike.

They will treat us to an entertaining evening of traditional and contemporary bluegrass music.
