Humboldt Ragtime Band

The popular Humboldt Ragtime Band specializes in the performance of turn-of-the-century ragtime piano music, stock dance band arrangements of that piano music, and sentimental parlor songs. For tonight's performance, they will perform classic ragtime tunes and several compositions never heard before by most of us. Also a new rag composed by Frank Stover in 2004 will be premiered.

After the intermission we are in for a special treat. The band will perform a live accompaniment to the 44-minute silent film, "Sherlock, Jr." starring Buster Keaton.

Members of the Humboldt Ragtime Band include Dana Christen, piano; Jill Petricca, flute and piccolo; Franklin Stover, clarinet and saxophone; Michael McClimon, cornet and flugelhorn; Jimmy Durchslag, trombone; Tom Merrill, tuba; Michael LaBolle, drums; and Cassie Demant and Pat Foran, sound effects. David Demant will conduct the ensemble for the silent film.

Popcorn will be provided for the show by the Concert Series. Come prepared for a fun evening.
