Max Zuckerman
and Ryan MacEvoy-McCullough
January 8, 2005
We are delighted to welcome two very talented musicians: Max Zuckerman, classical guitarist, and Ryan MacEvoy-McCullough, classical pianist. Both of these young people have been featured performers on the National Public Radio program "From the Top."
Max is a sophomore at the Peabody Institute in Baltimore, Maryland
where he is currently in the studio of Manuel Barrueco. Prior to
entering the conservatory, he studied guitar for twelve years with
Scott Cmiel in San Francisco. In 2002, at the American String
Teachers' Association national competition, Max won first prize in
his division (under 18 guitar) and Grand Prize for all the string
instruments in this division. In November 2003, Max was featured in
a master class at the Yale Guitar Extravaganza, and he recently was
a featured soloist at the Portland Guitar Festival.
Ryan is a senior at Humboldt State University studying with Deborah
Clasquin and majoring in piano performance. Having performed in
numerous recitals and with various chamber and orchestra groups,
including Humboldt Symphony Orchestra, Symphonic Band, and
Percussion Ensemble, Ryan is well known in the local area.
He has won several competitions recently. He was a gold medal winner in the Milosz Magin International Piano Competition in Paris in 2003, and a finalist and "most promising musician" in the Los Angeles Philharmonic Bronislaw Kaper Competition in 2004.
We look forward to a delightful evening with two very gifted young men.
