Deborah Clasquin

We are pleased to welcome back to our stage pianist Deborah Clasquin, whose powerful performances given with sensitive artistry distinguish her unique style. Ms. Clasquin enjoys an active career as a recitalist and orchestral soloist, and has appeared in concert in Paris, Moscow, Kiev, Chicago, Boston, Washington, D.C., San Francisco, and throughout Northern California.

This evening Ms. Clasquin will present an evening of international dance music composed during the twentieth century. Among the featured works will be two transcriptions of ballet music by Ravel and Bartok originally written for orchestra.

Also included will be lesser-known composers Frederico Mompou and Karol Szymanowski, as well as Alberto Ginastera. A unique addition to the program is a selection from jazz artist Bill Evans.
