Jared Coyle – Clarinet

Jared Coyle is a talented and dedicated music educator with over 20 years of experience working with K-12 instrumental and vocal music students. As a passionate advocate for music education, he has taught a variety of high school and middle school orchestra, band, choir, and general music classes. Currently, Jared teaches K-8 classroom music and band in the Fortuna Elementary School District, in addition to his role as a lecturer at Cal Poly Humboldt, where he teaches clarinet in the music department.

Jared’s musical accomplishments extend beyond the classroom as well. He has performed in recitals at Cal Poly Humboldt as a member of the music department and will be performing with the Eureka Symphony this spring. As a clarinetist, his performances are known for their technical skill and emotional depth, making him a cherished figure in Humboldt’s vibrant music scene.

David Powell – Tenor

David Powell is an accomplished tenor with a rich history in opera and classical music performance. Raised in Humboldt County, David has spent much of his life studying and performing across the U.S. He has performed notable roles such as Tamino at Lincoln Center and Symphony Space with New York Lyric Opera and Newland Archer in the world premiere of Age of Innocence with Classical Singing in New York. His return to the redwoods has brought him to the stage with the Dell’Arte Company and Ferndale Repertory Theater, where he has also contributed as a vocal director.

David began his operatic training at Humboldt State University before continuing his studies at the Boston Conservatory and privately in New York under Julliard faculty. His impressive performance career has taken him across the country, but the natural beauty and community of Humboldt County continue to draw him back. David is currently completing his Master’s degree in Physical Theater and was thrilled to be the tenor soloist in the Messiah with the Eureka Symphony this holiday season.

Together, Jared Coyle and David Powell offer a performance that blends instrumental mastery and vocal brilliance, creating an evening that will resonate with audiences long after the final note is played. Join us for a night of classical elegance, where music from Schumann to Gershwin comes to life through the passion and skill of two exceptional musicians.
